KCAS is looking for a Coordinator, Clinical Samples & Logistics (CSL)

KCAS Bioanalytical & Biomarker Services is seeking a motivated and self-directed individual to work as a Coordinator within the Clinical Samples & Logistics division of its GLP bioanalytical laboratory in Shawnee, Kansas.  KCAS is a contract research organization (CRO) providing bioanalytical & biomarker services to pharmaceutical clients in support of drug developments, preclinical and clinical studies.

Critical Functions 

The Coordinator, CSL reports to the Manager, CSL and is responsible for assisting in the management of personnel, complying with GLP, and assisting with all other regulatory requirements.  The incumbent will oversee the daily processes of protocol review, client correspondence, site communications and associated functions in the absence of the Manager. 

Depending on the applicant’s qualifications and previous experience responsibilities may include the following functions:

  • Protocol review
  • Laboratory manual preparation
  • Management of project e-mails, customer inquiries and supply orders when needed.
  • Attend study teleconferences when needed
  • Assist in the production of Sample Collection Supplies/kits & shipping during high volume time periods.
  • Communication with clients both external and internal concerning CSL studies
  • Backing-up the CSL Technicians and/or Sample Control Agent
  • Work on special projects as assigned

Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree required.  Must come from a scientific discipline.  

Job Requirements

2+ years of experience required.  Specific knowledge and skills to be used on the job include:

  • Experience working with protocols and/or clinical data
  • FDA regulation/ICH Guidelines
  • LIMS system experience, or any other data capture systems
  • Blood Borne Pathogen / Safety / PPE
  • GLP/ GCP regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
  • Excellent external and internal customer service skills
  • Careful attention to details and written documentation
  • Basic lab skills
  • Troubleshooting problems with inventories, collection supplies, samples, spreadsheets, and collection processes
  • Inventorying, accounting, and auditing
  • IATA (International Air Transportation Act) certified a plus
  • Maintain a productive work ethic
  • Work overtime as needed; be punctual with low absenteeism
