KCAS is looking for an Accounting Clerk

KCAS Bioanalytical & Biomarker Services is seeking an Accounting Clerk to assist with a variety of processes within the accounting function of a growing organization. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is organized and detailed, has experience within a couple key accounting functions such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and is looking to grow in their career. The Accounting Clerk will report to the Accounting Manager. KCAS is a contract research organization (CRO) providing bioanalytical & biomarker services to pharmaceutical clients in support of drug developments, preclinical and clinical studies.

Critical Functions 

Depending on the applicant’s qualifications and previous experience responsibilities may include the following functions:

  • Process accounts payable, including tracking expenses against budget and ensuring proper General Ledger classification upon entry.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliation of bank and loan accounts.
  • Process monthly invoicing, under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.
  • Process new contracts into applicable systems as they relate to the accounting function.
  • Prepare monthly sales and use tax reporting.
  • Process expense reimbursements via automated software system.
  • Along with Accounting Manager, ensure that products related to inventory are counted and accurate on a monthly basis.
  • Other duties as assigned


Education Requirements

  • Associates degree in Accounting; Bachelor’s degree preferred; in lieu of degree, 4+ years relevant experience is required.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience with increasing responsibilities within an accounting department.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Microsoft Excel, is preferred.
  • Experience working in QuickBooks and/or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

Comprehensive knowledge of

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Various office productivity software programs such as word processing, databases, spreadsheet programs, and communications software.
  • Planning and organizing independently on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Effective communication with all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Keep information confidential, as the role will deal daily with information that may have significant effect if shared under the wrong circumstance.
  • Set and manage priorities.
