KCAS is looking for an Vice President, Sales and Marketing

KCAS Bioanalytical & Biomarker Services is seeking a Vice President, Sales and Marketing. The Vice President of Sales and Marketing is responsible for coordinating all sales / marketing and general business development activities to deliver a sufficient level of bookings to meet revenue goals for the company.  This position is responsible for developing and coordinating Field Sales, Marketing and Contract Management for the organization.  The position requires developing assigned territory management and has responsibility for the department’s budget and financial targets.

In addition to the above items the Vice President will be responsible for developing strategies to attract new customers, forecasting, customer interaction, business data analysis, and a variety of other business-related activities.   This position will require the successful candidate to demonstrate the ability to effectively motivate and lead a team of professionals responsible for outward facing activities of the organization.  The Vice President will be expected to keep abreast of industry developments/trends.  Maintains a high level of professional expertise.  

Critical Functions 

Typical responsibilities of the Vice President, Marketing and Sales are listed below. 

  • Responsible for the high level planning including an annual sales plan to meet Company’s goals for areas of responsibility.
  • Tracks monthly/quarterly progress against annual goals and applicable Long Range Plan and prepares related month-end, quarterly and yearly reports.
  • Communication with investors, Board Members as needed.
  • Responsible for developing a market based advertising process through social media and traditional methods of promotion (i.e. print, trade shows, conferences, etc.)
  • Maintains expert knowledge of bioanalytical industry business, particularly in areas of competitive intelligence and market trends.
  • Performs complex technical assignments with understanding of underlying scientific principles.
  • Monitor client contacts conducted by Field Sales and Business Development staff.
  • Review cost quotation and business contracts. Develop quoting tools and processes to deliver opportunities effectively, efficiently and professionally.
  • Frequently meet with Field Sales and Business Development staff to understand new business opportunities.
  • Review technical presentation skills and advise staff on sales approach in order to become more effective communicators and successful sales staff.
  • Work effectively with marketing resources to identify, plan, administer and deliver communication to potential/current customers and needed information into KCAS’ CRM system.
  • Uses independent judgment, effectively recommending and/or taking acting related to interviewing, hiring, transfers, promotions, evaluating performance, layoffs, disciplinary action and employee complaints and concerns. Conduct and document employee performance on an annual basis and as needed.  Uses appropriate interpersonal skills to guide others to accomplish objectives, facilitates teamwork participation and cooperation.  Delegates work so staff has the necessary direction, authority and skills to complete projects.
  • Utilizes management principles to assure adequate supply of staff and resources to meet client/customer needs. Ensures adequate supplies and equipment are available for staff and ensures the effective and efficient utilization of such.  Responsible for the preparation of the work schedules, approves employee requests for time off.  Makes necessary adjustments to schedules according to changes in business needs.
  • Models time management, conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, accountability and responsibility. Collaborates with all appropriate areas to promote optimal client service.  Supports and fosters an environment to promote employee development and participation.
  • Uses leadership principles to anticipate and influence change. Determines resources and actions needed to accomplish objectives.  Sets priorities and manages time effectively.  Identifies potential problems/opportunities and plans for contingent action.  Develops new and unique ideas to improve existing systems or operations and when new organizational approaches are needed.  Exercises independent judgment to implement plans for area of responsibility.  Develops or optimizes processes and procedures to lead to more efficient work flow and productivity.


Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor degree with a minimum of 10+ year’s management experience in Sales and marketing leadership in a contract laboratory business.

Other education/experience will be considered with sufficient related experience at the discretion of CEO.


  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications software WORD, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of GLP Policies and Regulations.
  • Extensive comprehension of general lab techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of bioanalytical principles as well as industry scientific and business trends.
  • Effective use and comprehension of financial metrics and budgets.
  • Strong understanding of hiring and employment practices.
